Ace Monster Toys is one of the first Makerspaces to receive a Shapeoko2 from Inventables. We went to a Meetup there to see a demonstration and we even got to try out the Easel software being developed by Inventables. Time to celebrate by putting this commemorative Anchorage MakerSpace AMS bottle opener to use!

😀 It was actually working until the tape came loose and the cork started migrating. Oh, and it turns out the cork wasn’t actually 1/4″ thick, as indicated by the cut marks on the base board. Note the 3D printed motor mount which puts the spindle motor closer to the z-axis. You can’t see it,

The Shapeoko is to the point that we have run the equivalent of ‘Hello World’ which is a file that draws the name Shapeoko on a piece of paper. We should be able to do more soon. Over the weekend I printed a spacer for the slide rail which prevents the spindle from contacting the
